Received call and voicemail, when I returned the call they said that I could pay for 6 months and then my student loan debt would go away. When I asked where she worked and who would I be paying. She hung up. It showed as Escondido California on caller id.

I just received a call with the number came up as 814-823-7937 on my phone and left a voicemail , my student loan has been flagged as eligible for the recent stimulus forgiveness and relief legislation the voicemail was left by an agent 3941 - and that I needed to act immediately and call a dedicated 202 number. No way!

I’ve never applied for a student loan before so when I got a voicemail from this number regarding a student loan I knew it was a scam, also the area code for the number is outside of Canada so that put the nail in the coffin.

When I questioned how i knew this was not a scam they told me I could look up some info and then when I questioned why I would pay X amount now which I apparently can afford which is why i ""qualify"" for the forgiveness to begin with he said ie was a service and then I explain it was redundant if it is ""forgiveness"" and he kept pushing the sale and I said why don't i just consolidate my own loans with a bank and not pay a 988 application fee. and his response was ""If you think you can do that"" and I said ""Its not a matter of if or think, I know I can, that was my plan"" and he hung up on me.

They’ve called me Several times for student loan repayment help. Only recently has it changed to a stimulus student loan program. I’ve never had an student loan nor have my children. I hope People don’t fall for this.
