Call from San Antonio number re: Social Security Fraud. Bad grammar on VM text. Blocked and sent to spam.

This number has called twice today. The voicemail is a recorded message advising me my SSN has had fraudulent activity and “they” are beginning with legal proceedings. Such a SCAM!!

Just received a call from this number. Same as above.

Said that they were the BEA when I called because of they left no msg, but the BEA phone number is (301) 278-9004 in Maryland not San Antonio, TX, They asked for my case number and then want name - I hung up Bureau of Economic Analysis is real - but I do not think these guys are part of it. BEA is an independent, principal federal statistical agency that promotes a better understanding of the U.S. economy by providing timely, relevant, and accurate economic accounts data in an objective and cost-effective manner. Although a relatively small agency, BEA produces some of the most closely watched and influential economic indicators, such as gross domestic product (GDP) and the trade balance, that directly affect decisions made by policy makers, business leaders, and the American public.

Same as others reported. Robotic voice, truncated in the beginning, something about legal action. Blah blah. Total scam.

Just received the same robotic voice and says please call back before they will do legal action. So I search who the hell is this from and found the above two comments. Definite a scram

Fake DEA call. Claims there’s a “file open” or something similar, on your social security number. Asks you to call back. When you return the call, a guy with a very thick accent tries to get information from you commonly used in identity theft(social security number, address, etc).

Does anybody else getting calls from this number? It called me just few minutes ago 6/16/2020. I didn't answer because I didnt hear it and now I think it is not good idea to call back.
