Left a message, something about legal proceedings and to call back. I won’t be calling back.
I answered and it was a message that my social security card has been used in a fraudulent manner and I need to call them immediately. They then leave this 210 area code number (San Antonio, TX) for me to call them.
Normal companies robocalls state 2x what the call is about, this one just gave ...before we start a legal proceeding, even though it is a robo call the English is off which leads me to believe this was a spoofed number, I called back and they claimed to be IRS with fraud and threatened to go to ""local police""...just invite them to go to the local law enforcement as IRS tries to contact you via mail first and you are typically needing to call them.
I answered and it was a message that my social security card has been used in a fraudulent manner and I need to call them immediately. They then leave this 210 area code number (San Antonio, TX) for me to call them. Social security does not do this. They would send a letter, and if you have to contact them, they have 800 area code numbers (toll free). This is total scan and it is easier to just decline the call.
