216-712-4500 – IRS scam reports and user reviews

This number came up as Cox Store Parma. I live not far from Parma, Ohio so it was reasonable that they were calling about something for my family. I answered the call. At first there was no response. I realized it was probably a robo dial. Then an man with an Indian accent came on. He said that we worked for Cox internet provider and that there was a issue with the service being down last night. He was calling to make get my system up and running and to let me know that the government was requiring that cox give a large $$$$ money rebate for the poor service. I know that my internet was working last night and during the call. I also was already suspicious because of the delay when I answered. On top of that.... whenever we have had an internet issue in the past, we have always had to call out, and wouldn't it be nice if we ever got a rebate for all the stress that has put us through over the years. I told him our internet was working "Fine" never use "yes" when suspicious of a call. He abruptly hung up on me after finding out the internet is working. So either it was a scam call, or a very poorly trained customer service representative. No "goodbye" or have a "nice day''. Now I am SALTY!

I would receive this phone number 2167124500 on my landline at home for the past month. They are calling mostly during the day time. The caller ID does not list who is calling other than the phone number. The caller would always hang up and not leave a voice message. I do not know how this person got my unlisted phone number. Maybe it is a telemarketer, even though my unlisted phone number is on the Do Not Call list.
