Received 2 voicemails today 7/23/2020 stating I needed to call the number back before they begin with legal proceedings. spoke to man that informed me that my SS# has been connected to drug cartel and my name and personal information was found in a car that was in Texas with pounds of cocaine. This man went on and on about how I needed to change my SS# and they would be willing to help me to do that which would prevent the SS administrations from freezing all my assists and having criminal charges filed against me. This individual had my full name, phone and personal address. I stated I would have my attorney deal with the SS security administration office directly and that I was ending the call. Be aware this was the number 240-503-1276, Newburg, MD
Received a message on voicemail to call a number in Bethesda, MD supposedly Social Security Administration. They said that legal proceedings would commence if I did not resolve the issue with them. Total scam. Be careful folks—during Covid their are a lot of grifters trying to make a “dirty” buck.
They purport to be from the IRS and indicated legal proceedings will be forthcoming.
Got a call from this phone number today in the morning 7/23/2020 , they left no message. It is risky to answer any unknown calls. In a lot of cases they get paid for every pick up call even though they don't get to fleece you. If it's anybody important or that you know they will leave a message on voice mail.
