Did not answer call and glad I did not after reading the above comments. No message was left. Best not to answer calls unless you know who is calling. If someone really needs to reach you, they will leave a message.
The caller attempted to scam money from me to supposedly support the police. He claimed the police were under attack by BLM and other protestors. He used inflammatory rhetoric and misleading statements in order to convince me to give him money If I didn't, violent protesters would invade and destroy the (white) suburbs (or wherever I lived). He said that if any new or existing law would further restrict what type and level of force can be used by officers against protestors or against anyone they suspect of wrongdoing, then police officers would quit en masse and the remaining officers would start refusing to respond to calls. When I asked for details about his charity, he hung up on me. I looked up the number that showed up on caller ID, and I discovered the number was associated with and used by scammers. The scammer mimics legitimate calls, like a call from the fraternal order of police, but he adds fear-provoking lies to bully victims into giving the money.
