When I answered a call, the recording machine asked me to return a call for my SSN they needed. Possibly a scam. So, I am not going to return their call at all.
They called me too, and I have seen others in my neighborhood being called, but don't know if it's the exact number. But the SSN claims from the voice note they left is same.
The person claims to be from Social Security Administration, gives me a common name of Robert Smith, and sounds like calling from a call center. Wants me to give him my ss number, then asks for last 4, never asks for my name. Then says he is hanging up the phone and calling the local police.
Never a good sign when someone calls but leaves no message; sorry, but the only way to reach me when I don't recognize number is to leave a voice message. They called me today early morning 8/10/2020
