575-303-4639 – IRS scam report

Someone calls you saying you won a Publishers Clearinghouse prize of 2.5 million dollars. That person gives you this number to call and claim the prize. A guy answers the phone with nothing but a hello, nothing about Publishes Clearinghouse. Calls himself Bob Anderson. Tells you several times that he will now ask for any personal information. Only wants to verify your phone number and address, then tells you someone is already on their way to your house to hand you a certified bank check for $2,500,000 and a new BMW car. Says they will be at your house around 1:30 - 2:00. Obviously no one shows up so I called "Bob" back. He apologizes for the delay and puts you on hold to supposedly call these guys delivering this check and car. Then tells you they are 45 minutes out according to their GPS. Tells you all you need to do is show them valid state issued ID and then suddenly mentions this formal release card the IRS needs. That's right, the IRS needs one of those Visa gift cards to allow me to receive this income. I never asked him how much the card should be for, but I did ask him if all the real jobs in his area were already taken. Bob then hung up on me.
