831-889-2945 – Scam suspicion user reviews

Near identical transaction today (Aug 10, 2024) as reported by Dennis Omick from 10 May 2024 above. Big difference through is that first call was from male sobbing in tears, very hard to identify, who said he was my son, was in jail for car wreck with a pregnant woman and facing charges. Needed bail money and that bail would be arranged by "good man - Atty Mike Rivers..." . Then second call from someone who identified himself as "Mike Rivers", a defense atty with "Legal Defense" local who would arrange bail and defense. After sending some money for bail, we found that son was at work, uninjured, no encounter with police and entire thing was a scam. Live and learn.

I received a call from this number, and he said it was my son who had been arrested for drunk driving and a public defender would call me to arrange bail. While waiting for the public defender to call back, I called my son's cell phone; he answered and said he was at home and fine. When the public defender (Mike Rivers) called, I told him I had my son on the other line, and the defender hung up on me. I called the number back, which was answered with "public defender's office." I asked for Mike Rivers, and they called him to the phone, and when I told him what I was calling about, he hung up on me again. I assume they would've asked for a charge card to post bail, but I never let it get that far.
