Woman called my work and asked to speak with a ex-employee. I informed the lady that she was no longer an employee of ours and she argued that she just completed an employment verification on Monday with my payroll department. Payroll was out on Monday, so that wasn't true. Transferred her to my HR director and the lady did all but cuss her out. Seems like a fishing scam
I received the same call and since the number is a unknown number to me, I let it go to voicemail. Barb has left multiple voicemails using my nickname also, she would say things like this in the voicemails....“this is an urgent matter that’s came across my desk”....”this is a time sensitive matter”.....”please give me a call back before I have make a decision on this matter”. I have never called her back and don’t plan on it. I haven’t blocked her yet just to hear how long this will go, currently October 7 is the 8th work day in a row. I’ll give her this, she’s persistent, lol
The person named Barbie is claiming a loan was taken out in May, she has some personal info, but I have checked my credit reports and the claim she is making is false. I believe it to be a scam. I go by a nick name, which is on my voicemail. She left a message saying that an ""urgent matter has come to her department"". She called my wife's cell # and asked if I go by ""my nick name"", and asked about our address. She provided my wife with the information about a loan taken in May, and where it was deposited. I have no loan, or deposit. I've blocked the number. I tried calling the number she asked me to from a different phone several dozen times and she doesn't answer. I feel it is a scam number.
