I rec'd a rather bizarre call from this number. It was some person that claimed they were from some Confucius Charity or Non-Profit, somehow affiliated with the University of Iowa...? Some ""Phil"" character was calling to ask if I was available to speak to...Phil claimed he wanted to invite me to attend some Cultural outreach meeting in Iowa City...an hour & a half away...(?). This Phil guy was very concerned over who I was on the phone too; telling me he would see if I qualified for a seat at this event—repeatedly asking for my full name, even my Social Security number... He started to become belligerent & that conversation then ended quickly. It was one insane phonecall; completely bizarre. I don't even live close to Iowa City; I didn't attend the University of Iowa...ever; I finished at Iowa State nearly a decade ago...(?) I don't know what scam this is exactly, but I'd hesitate in answering. It's some sort of scam — I mean, Confucianism, ...Social Security numbers...? Who thinks up this sort of insanity...? ...Either scammers or some semi-coordinated racism...

I've been called twice today from this 833 area code: 833-731-0471 and 833-919-0704; I wouldn't pick up, and no msg left, but when I look it up online, people say it's SBCS Financial or something like that, and it's a debt collector, collections agency. So, here is my PSA: If you ever get a call from a debt collector who is not your original creditor (like Macy's or Capital One, or any legitimate creditor, for instance), you don't have to respond to them. They have been sold your account, usually after default or a write-off from the original company, and all they want to do is harass you into paying them whatever amount they say you owe, BUT the scam is that once you pay it to them, you never hear from them again, and they have NOTHING to do with your original account OR making corrections or updates to your credit report. I'm speaking from experience, unfortunately. I hope this helps someone out there. God Bless

Cindy rom FRS called me 19 in July n once today at 8:07 am. She and the others wanted my last 4 of ss or birthday. I would not give it out.

I was called on my cell phone and was asked to verify information and he was with FRS

The caller said that he was on a recorded line and needed to verify that I was who he was calling that he had a very important business matter to take care and I asked as to what it about and he said that I needed to verify who I was before he could tell me what it was about.

Called with my maiden name said they had an “urgent business matter” I refused to acknowledge that I was who they were looking for and the lady got very pushy. She eventually hung up because I wouldn’t confirm my identity.

1-833-919-0704 called. Told me they were with FRS and needed to verify the last 4 of my social, I told them no. Asked for a call back number for them as this seemed like a scam call. ""Phil"" got very irritated, stated they could not leave a message and this was in regards to a personal business matter. I told him I would not be giving him any information without knowing why he needed it. Phil stated he couldn't tell me anything without verify I was me, with either an address, birth date or last four of my social security number. Told, Phil once again I was not providing any info and that I would be reporting the number and blocking the number as this has all the appearances of a scam call.No business came up when I searched the phone number, only this site. I did NOT call the number back as to not perpetuate any possible compromise of my information.

Calls a lot and doesn’t leave a message. Feels scammy

They called me from the number 8339190704 No message left. Not calling them back. Waste of my time. I do not know who this is nor do I answer calls from people I don't know. If you don't leave a message I won't call you, and more than likely if I don't know you I won't call you back.
