Received call yesterday & again today I answered . . . same call as reported June 9 . . . only a woman this time. Just sounded fishy and I hung up. Looked up number and found out it is ""fishy!"" and truly NOT AT&T.
A man with a south Asian (?) accent called me (on my Comcast landline) by name, saying he was from ATT and that my security had been compromised and that he could help me out. Because I use ATT for my cell phone, I had answered it. The caller ID said ATT North Brk Te, and it was 847-562-7017. He asked if I was sitting by my computer, whereupon I said I could not help him and hung up. Then I reported it to ATT, who asked if I had given him any information. No, I said, but he had known my name, The rep checked and said my account was intact, but I was right to call ATT and to never give out any information under such circumstances.
Can anybody help me with the number 8475627017 ? Called me 2 times. Any information, details about it? Is it safe to answer? I'm really happy that this site exists. Thank you guys in advance.
