Received voicemail on 02/04/2021 from a woman with a thick foreign accent and distorted audio generally throughout the voicemail. She claimed to be with with US Border Control and Customs and was calling to inform me that a package has been seized due to criminal activity and that I needed to call back because an arrest warrant has been issued no my name (which she never used throughout the call to identify me). While I had ordered a few things from Wish recently, all parcels are coming from China and wouldn’t come close to the Charleston, SC location she called me from. I also double checked all of the items and they are still in China as I type this. I don’t know if it was a lucky guess that she knew I had ordered items recently and used it as a scare tactic to get me to call back, or if it’s really THAT easy to look into what people do on the internet.. bottom line: this had to have been a hoax.
A woman left me a voice message. The message was distorted through out the call. The ending said arrest warrant will be served against me.
Is anybody getting calls from the number 8542229457 ? Called me a few times recently but I didn't answer, I was at work. Do you think it's a good idea to call it back? to be honest, I'm afraid of any unwanted costs. Happened to me in the past.
