He offered the 50% promotion, with free movie channels, gave me an authorization code and then told me, as the sponsor, EBAY wanted me to pay the first 6 months using an EBAY gift card. We were done at this point. I looked on line and found the scam. It was extremely convincing.
This number is a scam, I called Direct TV to see if they were running this promotion with AT&T, they informed they were NOT and this indeed was a scam. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO TO THESE CROOKS!
The call claims to be from AT&T, they tell you are qualified for 50% off your bill, then put you on perpetual hold, then ask you to pay 8 months up front in order to qualify. This is a SCAM!!!!!!!

Someone called me from the number 8555841515 . After the phone quits ringing and goes to Voice Mail they hung up and didnt leave any voice message. I suggest to not answer the phone when the caller phones you. The caller may want to know what time/day you pick up the phone to know when you are home, so they would know when to call you again.
