This number was left on a door tag around the door knob. It also listed the tech name of Butch and another phone number. This person actually entered the home of a mentally disabled person, removed his TV and his Cox equipment. Most definitely a SCAM!!! Beware
I got a call from 885-688-8708, asking about my Cox Homelife account. I let the caller know that I wanted to cancel the service - I do not remember what information I gave out but I scheduled an equipment pick-up the following Monday, when no one showed up or called I called Cox Communications and spoke to a rep that advised me there is nothing on my account indicating someone had called me, my service was not cancelled, and he didn't see anything about an equipment pick up. He said those types of pick-ups have a $100 fee. I was not provided the information about the fee days prior. Taken everything into consideration, I do not believe I was speaking with a Cox representative the first time.
The message says it is from Cox Communications regarding my account, and that my account has been suspended. They want me to call them to resolve this issue. My account is current, and Cox does not have my cell number. This is a scam.
When an unknown number like the one 8556888708 is calling I never answer. I don't like telemarketers. If it was something important they would leave a voice message. But they didn't. I think it is another telephone ad.
