Received numerous call from different numbers from.the same person Melissa Spence. No name if the company. Request to call back to 855-873-5677 with the same reference number as everyone else- 27785. I called the number and there is mention of the name of the company and put you in a question to hold. I hung up and did this research. Thanks all for the info.

04/24/20 Melissa Spence agent ID 1104 called me from 1-552-379-2799 to discuss my student loan. Left a voicemail saying they need to discuss payment options and that there are ""urgent changes taken recently"". She asks me to call back at 855-873-5677 and leaves a reference number. She never discloses the student loan provider. This is a scam and they are fishing for personal information. If you receive a message like this, do not call the numbers provided, instead contact your student loan provider directly for account information and repayment plans. Category: Students loan scam

Called my cell phone and left the following voice mail left on May 13 at 4:56 pm . ""Hi there my name is Melissa Stentz and my agent ID is 1104 I was calling about your student loans I need to discuss your payment options with you as soon as possible at looks hear that there is an urgent changes to your account recently if you can give me a call back at 855-873-5677 please keep this reference number handy when you do call back it will make things a bit easier on this and if you have it that reference number is 27785, this is time sensitive I've got ahead and extend the matter to remain open until we hear from you again my number is 855-873-5677 thanks so much I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience…"" sorry ma'am, I am paid in FULL. Not calling you back - send me a letter if you need to contact me....otherwise leave me alone!

Scam call! Doesn’t identify the company just says they need to discuss student loan payment.

They don't even use a/your name at all during the voicemail which is the same as everyone has listed. If you don't know my name you definitely aren't calling for a legit purpose.

Message from Melissa Stentz, agent # 1104. Said there were time sensitive changes made to my student loans, however I received no physical letters or notification from federal aid. I was asked to call back 855-873-5677 to discuss potential payment options. Seems to me like this is a scam, and according to all the other comments about this number, I'll just wait for a physical letter from the usual federal aid contacts.

Had the following voice mail left on May 1 at 1:32 pm ... looks like it is the same as many others have posted. ""Hi there my name is Melissa ______ ___ my agent ID is 1104 I was your couple ________ about your student loans I need to discuss your payment options with you as soon as possible at looks hear that there is an urgent changes to your account but I've taken a ____ recently if you can give me a call back at 855-873-5677 please keep this reference number handy when you do call back it will make things a bit easier on this and if you have it that reference number is 27785 ______ this is time sensitive I've got ahead and extend __ the matter to remain open until we hear from you again my number is 855-873-5677 thanks so much I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience…"" If you receive a message like this, do not call the numbers provided, instead contact your student loan provider directly for account information and repayment plans. And FYI: if you are in a garnishment for student loan payback - that has been put on hold due to the current pandemic. It was effective March 13 and will go until Sept 13. Employers should not withhold the funds during this time and if they have, you should receive a refund. Be smart when you get the refund though and put it away to apply to the loan when the hold is lifted.

They try to charge me 174 for four months

Hi all. All of my student loans are PAID. There’s no reason to get such a call. Further, if anyone owed student loans, a letter would be sent first. They’ll follow up via mail if they don’t hear from you, and then a phone call may come down the line. This is a scam. They love scaring people into submission.

This number isnt really a scam, so much as an opportunity to take advantage of somebody that is not well versed with their options. They are a legit company providing a service to file forms on your behalf to your loan holders that are otherwise free. They charge a fee to provide this service, without any guarantees since they cannot guarantee the acceptance of your information and therefore the loan forgiveness. Their is truth to their options, where they can file the forms ""correctly"" and increase your chances of getting a loan forgiveness, HOWEVER, if you have the money to spend on their services, why not just make payments on your loan or find the forms and file them yourself for FREE!... Most list this as a scam, and officially it is NOT a scam, but a paid for service one can elect to pay for convenience. Like filing your taxes...most pay a ""professional"" to prepare and file the taxes, and some probably should based on need, but most that pay could actually file their taxes for free as well.

I received a call a voicemail with the exact same name Melissa and the ref #27785 as the other comments above. I received letters from my student loans that my accounts have been placed in forbearance due to the pandemic and there is nothing I need to do at this time. I will be sent a letter from them when the forbearance is over or if it is extended. I hate these people. I have receive calls from another company as well with the same ****. I asked if they were from the department of education and she danced around the question. I let her know I literally had the letter directly from my student loan carrier in my lap and it says I have a forbearance because of the pandemic. She said oh really and hung up!

I just had this exact call happen to me from whoever Melissa really is and left her agent # 1104 then the reference # 27785... thank goodness for this site, I almost wasted my time calling them because I know for a fact that my student loan is paid for in full - I just got a letter from Dept. of Education stating I overpaid and was reimbursed!!! YUP Hate these scammers get a real job people!!!

I just received a call today from this number. As soon as I answered this automated message played “Hi there my name is Melissa ______ ___ my agent ID is 1104 I was your couple ________ about your student loans I need to discuss your payment options with you as soon as possible at looks hear that there is an urgent changes to your account but I've taken a ____ recently if you can give me a call back at 855-873-5677 please keep this reference number handy when you do call back it will make things a bit easier on this and if you have it that reference number is 27785 ______ this is time sensitive I've got ahead and extend __ the matter to remain open until we hear from you again my number is 855-873-5677 thanks so much I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience…” First I called the number they left on the voicemail and a man picked up asking for the reference number 27785, then he asked how much my loan was. I refused to give him any information & asked if he worked for the Department of Education. He said no and promptly hung up. I called right back...they hung up on me again. I called a third time...another man answered & as soon as I asked one question he hung up again so I blocked the number. This is completely a scam! Just do yourself a favor and block them.

“Hi there my name is Melissa ______ ___ my agent ID is 1104 I was your couple ________ about your student loans I need to discuss your payment options with you as soon as possible at looks hear that there is an urgent changes to your account but I've taken a ____ recently if you can give me a call back at 855-873-5677 please keep this reference number handy when you do call back it will make things a bit easier on this and if you have it that reference number is 27785 ______ this is time sensitive I've got ahead and extend __ the matter to remain open until we hear from you again my number is 855-873-5677 thanks so much I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience…” They left a few voicemails. One was from Alabama and the recent one was from Virgina. First I called the number they left on the voicemail and a man picked up asking for the reference number 27785, then he asked how much my loan was...That already sounded sketchy! After feeling like my intuition was telling me not to give out any information. The man just hung up on me and told me to give them a call back when I can pay the loans back. I was so upset that I called the number on the voicemail and a different man picked up asking for my reference number and how much loans that I have? I hope these scammers get caught! I can't believe they are doing this during the pandemic!

“Hi there my name is Melissa ______ ___ my agent ID is 1104 I was your couple ________ about your student loans I need to discuss your payment options with you as soon as possible at looks hear that there is an urgent changes to your account but I've taken a ____ recently if you can give me a call back at 855-873-5677 please keep this reference number handy when you do call back it will make things a bit easier on this and if you have it that reference number is 27785 ______ this is time sensitive I've got ahead and extend __ the matter to remain open until we hear from you again my number is 855-873-5677 thanks so much I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience…” This is the message I have gotten 3 times now, but the caller ID was a different number each time and it went straight to voicemail each time.

When I asked why they were calling me they asked for my phone number. I told them they had just called me and why would you need a number. I asked if this was a scam and Kyle Young said if I didn't feel comfortable with the program I didn't have to do it. I said I know, this is America. Then I said I know this is a scam because I don't have student loans!!!!!

My call came from North Carolina and yes Melissa Spence ID# 1104 left the same message that she had some important information regarding payments on my student loan. Well first of all, my loan is in forbearance so I shouldn't be getting any calls and secondly, the call back number is (855) 873-5677 Ref #27785. It looks like Melissa is a very busy girl and why do we all have the same reference number?
