Just received a call to that went straight to voicemail saying it was from Evergy and they had a disconnect order due to non-payment. I know this is a scam since: 1. I actually have a credit balance, 2. I've never been late & 3. The number doesn't even come close to Evergy customer service.
Said they were from Evergy power (Kansas) and my payment was 3 months past due. Wanted $400 and some dollars before the technicians come and turn power off in 20 minutes. I can see my banking online and I have paid. Convincing pitch - gave an investigation number, and offer that if they were wrong I would get 3 months free power. I called Evergy. Weekend recording says right away that there are no shut-offs during COVID.
Said they were from dominion sc power my power will be cut off tomorrow.
Said Dominion VA Power your account is going to be disconnected.
