My MIL just received a message on her answering machine saying she owes Amazon over $900 for a purchase, blah blah blah. I told her to block them and it’s a scam.
Message said that I had been billed over $900 dollars by Amazon and to notify their fraud dept at this number. My Amazon account does not show any unusual activity. Since others have received a similar call involving this number I suspect it is a scam.
Called saying there was an $800 charge of n my Amazon account and to call them back if I hadn’t made the purchase.
Received cal Aug 20, 2021 saying they are from Amazon Billing and Fraud. Said there is a charge to the credit card linked to my Amazon account for over $900. I should call the Fraud Dept if it wasn't my purchase. 1. It was an automated call 2. They didn't say my name 3. They didn't give any credit card info 4. They didn't give my Amazon account info I don't see any purchases on my Amazon account or any odd changes to any of my credit cards. I deleted the message.
