Caller ID said "DEBT VALIDATIO [N?]" but no message was left (I let the machine pick up and screened the call). Didn't recognize the number and do NOT have any major outstanding debt, anyway. And when I looked "debt validation" up? It means YOU write a letter to the debt collection agency telling them to provide PROOF that you owe that money -- NOT the other way round.... The only hit I found (and that was AFTER adding "DEBT" to the search along with the number) was for some bogus Spokeo front site that has NOTHING on it except a link to look up the number on Spokeo (maybe we should file a class action lawsuit against THEM for either this sort of slimy behavior -- OR for being too incompetent to stop the scammers who are spoofing their site...).
