Received a call today, didnt pick up. They left a VM saying to call them back at another # before they start legal proceedings. ""They"" never said who they are which is sketchy within itself. It scared me for a moment until I viewed this site and saw other people have gotten these calls.
Scam. Said they were from SSA and I was under investigation. Hung up at that point.
This number just called me and left a very unprofessional voicemail. They must have started talking before it began recording because it started in the middle of a word and then something about avoiding legal proceedings. I am going to call this complete scam and you should not answer or call back this number. I strongly believe it's an IRS/SNN scam but since they cut their own voicemail off, I can't know for sure because I will not be returning their call.
Claimed to be a special investigation agent of SSA and to avoid arrest I should call a number. I hung up at that point. Obvious scam.
