AI. Claimed to be from bank calling about debit card. Asked me to verify name [which was correct], pressing 1 if yes, 2 if no. Hung up. Do not like giving phone # when filling forms out online which is why I answered call. Been filling out a few forms lately. Will call bank to verify claim.

I am so glad I found this site!! I will be using it many times in the future, I am sure! After reading 7 other reviews, the Exact thing happened to me! I received a message that my banks Fraud Alert found unusual purchases! After 4 hours and now needing to go to my bank to get a new card, I find out that this number is a SCAM! It’s cost me half a day, and it’s going to take a 40 mile round trip to fix it! (833) 735-1891 is a BANKING SCAM!

This is legitimate. I made an unusual online transaction using my debit card. Within seconds I received a call from this number. This is the number for their Fraud Department 3rd Party Debit Card issuer for my bank. I am very grateful for them. The phone number identifying them came up as Spam Risk. I did not answer it. I looked online for the identification for this number and read the comments. I then contacted my bank directly and they verified that their 3rd party debit card issuer did indeed call me and I was able to clear the transaction I made. This is legitimate and not Spam. If you received a call from this number...check your debit and credit card issuer @ your bank or credit card company as there are transactions on your card that need to be cleared, ESPECIALLY If you haven't used your card(s) recently, you really should double check for any transactions against them. If you don't, they may decline your use until you do.

I received an email from EnFact Notication that fraud has been detected. The number listed to call was 833-7351-1891. It continued to claim the case number they gave to verify was invalid. Tried many times without success. Finally called my credit union"s fraud dection number. My card had been held for fraud detection. I was able to clear it up in minutes.

Claims to be GTE reported number as Scam suspicion

Claims to be from GTE Financial fraud division, I explained that I already closed the card and contacted my bank directly, he said (in a very strong Indian accent) that he still needed my information to complete the fraud report - I said no, my bank is aware and I then ended the call. Not sure how these people are getting this information but they called both our cell phones and our home phone. Always call your bank directly, not the number provided via text or phone.

833-735-1891 called and said it was from our Bank's fraud department and began asking for information to verify. We called the bank after hanging up and it said they were closed. After a few searches this number has come up with the same scam type on several websites. Luckily we hung up and never gave information. Sounded pretty real, but we didn't fall for it... luckily.

SCAM. This is a sophisticated scammer that pretends to be a debit card fraud detection center for many banks and credit unions. They send emails, text messages and leave voice mails. They use personal information that they probably obtained from data breaches (that's how they know your name, contact info, bank name and maybe even part of your account number or debit card number). They even add comments on sites like this one to refute the claims that they're scammers, to try to sound legit. Never call them back or reply to their text messages. Call your bank directly or the number on the back of your debit card. Don't fall for these scams - they'll end up charging your account for hundreds of dollars.

I received this call the moment when Google verified a transaction in which they charged a dollar, but was given back. I believe this is more of a scam. The callback number was 1-833-735-1891. If it was a spammer, they were nice and stayed on the phone discussing why they called me. I asked how and when did they know when to call me. She was from the Philippines and did know of various transactions up to the hours of my last transaction. I still believe it was a scam, but will verify with the bank during the day. I asked who she was working for and where the building she worked in the Philippines so my bank could call and verify this was a real call on behalf of the Educators credit union. Before she left the conversation over 25 minutes of me asking her questions She could not give me that answer to what building she worked out of to see if it was a legit call. She stated over and over that the call was an AI computer-generated caller, which made the call. What I was afraid of was that they knew many of the transactions that took place up to the hour. I also asked her if she had a number where my bank could call to verify this questionable spam. It was hard to understand her or believe anything she said. The verdict is still out if it was legit or not.
