I received this call the moment when Google verified a transaction in which they charged a dollar, but was given back. I believe this is more of a scam. The callback number was 1-833-735-1891. If it was a spammer, they were nice and stayed on the phone discussing why they called me. I asked how and when did they know when to call me. She was from the Philippines and did know of various transactions up to the hours of my last transaction. I still believe it was a scam, but will verify with the bank during the day. I asked who she was working for and where the building she worked in the Philippines so my bank could call and verify this was a real call on behalf of the Educators credit union. Before she left the conversation over 25 minutes of me asking her questions She could not give me that answer to what building she worked out of to see if it was a legit call. She stated over and over that the call was an AI computer-generated caller, which made the call. What I was afraid of was that they knew many of the transactions that took place up to the hour. I also asked her if she had a number where my bank could call to verify this questionable spam. It was hard to understand her or believe anything she said. The verdict is still out if it was legit or not.

Not Scam in my case reported number as Scam suspicion

The call that I got from 833-735-1891 was a real notification from my bank, GTE Financial. My credit card was used to buy something that I did not authorize. My bank detected the fraud and notified me by calling from this number. They also sent a text notification, which kind of confused me since that text also came from a number that I didn't recognize.

This number is a Fraud Detection service that multiple banks use. In my case it was real, however, I called the bank directly to be safe.

The number is indeed legit. It's an outsourced third party fraud line for A LOT of banks. I called the number on the back of my debit card, and they told me it was legit, and that my account was flagged twice for a $1 charge for some Zumba Fitness company. I told them that was definitely not me. So, they closed that card, and are sending me a new one. I had looked at my bank account, and saw nothing at all. Those $1 charges didn't show up on my end at all. I think because it was just for $1, whoever was trying to get my money was testing to see if it would go through for them.

GTE FRAUD SCAM reported number as Scam suspicion

I received voicemail wit this number attached stating fraud suspected on my get account. I contacted the credit union using their direct number. there was a company IDed as dis cord san Francisco trying to place a charge for $9.95 on my account. If you received any calls from this number I advise contacting your bank or credit union, reporting the fraud and getting a new card. also block this number from futher contacting you.

Full blown scam. I get these at least twice a month claiming fraudulent charges on my bank account. The banks that they claim these charges are made on are banks/credit unions that we don't use. My banks and credit unions that we use would call directly and not on a prerecorded call. Nor would they use a 833 number

I received a voice message from this number claiming there was possible fraud activity on my card. I was concerned that it was fake so I called my bank directly. They stated that yes, they do use a system that calls us to alert us. It turns out that they just needed to verify recent activity. Some people claim this is a scam, but it is not. It's not YOUR bank's phone number, but it's a system that banks use in order to contact you regarding possible issues.

Showed call as unknown. Had the right last four digits saying there’s unusual activity and had to temporarily place a hold on the card. Its not my banks number. Scam for sure. Beware!!!

My husbands employer received a phone call for him from 1-833-735-1891. The caller said they were from our local bank. The bank we use. I confirmed with our bank that this call was not from them. I checked on our debit card and our credit card with the bank to ensure the call was not legit. Conclusion: This is a scam phone call.

I received a text message yesterday asking to verify a bank transaction for a bank I have never used. Today, 11/30/2022, I received a voice mail message from 833-735-1891 stating: this is the Middlesex Federal Savings fraud detection center calling to verify recent transactions on your Middlesex Federal Savings debit card ending in XXXX. Due to unusual activity a temporary hold has been placed on your card. Please have ____ _____ call us as soon as possible. They even provided an eleven (11) digit case number. THIS IS A SCAM -- I have never heard of this bank. Block this caller

Sent text posing as a bank I have NEVER used, claiming possible fraud with FreeMSG Banner Bank wire transfer; Didn't reply. Left voicemail with recorded message as if they were a collection agency. Not me, not my account, suspect THEY are the frauds. Cell phone has been on do not call list since it was created, and didn't call home (non-work,) phone. VERY Suspicious in my opinion.

This is NOT legit- whoever is claiming this is part of the fraud. This is a scam folks. EnFact is a SCAM and pretty darn scary how they get the bank, debt #, phone number and email correct. Block the phone number and redirect the email to spam.

This call was from my credit union wanting to verify suspicious activity on my account. Called the bank number on my card and found out they didn't call.

Another supposed "fraud prevention" call from my credit union... Could hardly understand the person with a strong Indian accent. One of the supposed flagged charges was to AAA and the charge has already posted and cleared my account... that makes me very suspicious... of course it's Saturday and the Credit Union is not open to verify any information. Changing my bank account online password immediately as evidently someone from India has access to my account. I don't understand why any U.S. bank would use a call center in India.... as everyone knows this country is the home base for most telephone and computer scammers.

This number has called me multiple times in the last two days saying that my credit union debit card had suspicious activity on it. The name was not mine, and the bank is not one I use. I have had my number on my phone for the last 10 plus years. Seems as if it could be a bit of a scam.

Received text alert with last four digits of my card saying the card was recently used, and I hadn't used it. Refused call from this number and called the bank. The activity had occurred. Asked bank to freeze card, refuse any charges, and issue a new card.
