I had cancelled some months ago, and they were offering a better deal to come back, $12/year, so I asked how much it would auto renew for at the end of that year? She said it would be the same $12/year for the following year... red flag #1 I said too good to be true, that's not how things work in this business, and asked how much a normal subscription without any offer for the all digital version? She was "trying to check", asking me to hold, tried to get a supervisor for verification of the info, but they were not in, and she asked if she could call back? Red Flag #2 AND I messed up here, and said "sure". Proper response should have been to hang up and call the merchant to verify the call was legit and they had that offer available. It will likely turn out to be legitimate and not a scam, but it did have that "unsolicited" quality, and the feeling of a "surveillance" call to collect info. I shouldn't poke the bear or lion on social media, but I do from time to time, as they have utterly failed their public servant jobs when they list patriotic symbols are likely flags of domestic terrorists. Time to go suggest they send me one of the tactical sweatshirts with just such a logo, so I can help them by testing it, since they are so short staffed and so busy with the new UltraMAGA Teflon Don! .. at least until they get their 87,000 NEW IRS agents
