The caller left the following voice mail message: “If you wish to stop or cancel the payment please call us at our customer care number 802-636-9727 I repeat it's 802-636-9727 thank you…” I received the same message from a different number. I called back and actually got a person. I asked who they were calling on behalf of and in a very heavy accent they said my computer’s Norton anti virus had expired...when I heard that I knew it was a scam and hung up.
Called me, I answered (as my cell phone is also my work phone and I get calls from co-workers or supervisory personnel on a regular basis with different numbers) and there was no response. Complete silence. Do not answer unknown numbers unless you absolutely need to and report any suspicious activity (or inactivity in this case).
Got a call from this phone number today in the morning 8/26/2020 , they left no message. It is risky to answer any unknown calls. In a lot of cases they get paid for every pick up call even though they don't get to fleece you. If it's anybody important or that you know they will leave a message on voice mail.
